Responsibilities: • Monitor and support clients’ order flows, investigate and troubleshoot issues, and escalate when necessary • Major problem / outage management and escalation • Consultative approach to trading infrastructure, FIX specifications and Network order routing • Stay abreast of changes and trends of SPS business, systems and competitors • Liaise with the Business and the Development Team with regard to priorities and progress of various tasks and projects • Manage the testing phases with the client with regard to FIX Connectivity, Systems Setup and Firewall Setup • If necessary, step up to manage the SPS IT Services team • If necessary, project-manage the implementation of new systems or system upgrades within the region • Hours coverage: 7am – 6pm (daily hours to be agreed with Manager) Requirements (Essential): • Graduate Degree, IT degree or relevant qualification, technical background is preferred • Minimum 3 years experience of working within investment banking or related environment (e.g. Buy Side or Vendor) • Knowledge of FIX Protocol Message standards with extensive experience of network infrastructure • Knowledge of equities from an exchange and capital markets perspective, Asia market knowledge is preferred • Ability to act quickly and precisely in fast-moving and time sensitive trading environment • Ability to think logically and calmly under emergency and stressful situation (e.g. during outages) • Ability to multitask and effectively service clients in a time critical and fast paced trading environment • Must be client service oriented and exhibit high level of professionalism in team oriented environment • Ability to understand and thrive in both in technology and business environment • Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Bilingual (English & Japanese) is preferred Requirements (Desirable): • Knowledge of high speed DMA business in Asian markets/currencies is highly desirable • Knowledge of algorithmic trading is preferred • Knowledge of futures & options DMA business is preferred • Fluency in other Asian languages is advantageous • Familiar/confident with trading environments/systems/situations • Team player that is able to work with people across different departments, countries and regions • Ability to step up to manage a support team, while driving team members to best performance Requirements (Technical): • Shell scripting & Perl scripting are essential • Experience in SQL statement for various databases is essential • Working experience in Unix (Solaris) and Linux environment is essential • Java programming experience is an advantage
