Strong prudential management has been a key to Macquarie's success over many years. The Risk Management Group is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. Risk Management Group personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed. The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Act 2006 requires Macquarie to assess money laundering/terrorism financing (ML/TF) risks and to establish and maintain an AML/CTF Program with the aim of mitigating these risks. In this role, you will be part of a central team responsible for maintaining the Group wide AML/CTF Program. The nature of this support will include analysis, reviews, enhancement and development of the AML/CTF Program within Macquarie. The role includes critically assessing existing processes, systems and controls with the aim of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the day to day operation of the Macquarie AML/CTF Program. With strong analytical and problem solving skills, you will critically analyse needs, risks and controls in order to formulate strategies and solutions. Job Purpose To work with compliance professionals both centrally and in the business to assist in ensuring Macquarie's ongoing compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities Working closely with the RMG teams, business groups and ITG, the role will include: - Responsible for testing and QA of the Group wide AML/CTF Program, including the operationalisation of all the program components
- Analysis of existing processes, systems and controls with the aim of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Macquarie AML/CTF Program
- Identifying required changes in processes and/or systems across the Group in relation to the AML/CTF Program
- Working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders from all business groups
- Liaising with users and stakeholders as required and reporting on status and progress to management and AML/CTF compliance officer
- Dealing with escalated issues and participating in the group wide coordination of these issues
- Developing and delivering specific AML/CTF training on key focus areas
- Act as a liaison point for the RMG Compliance AML team with the Business teams
Knowledge Skills and Experience Required Interested applicants will ideally possess some, if not all, of the following: - Tertiary qualifications in law or business is highly regarded, but not mandatory
- Experience gained within an investment bank or financial services institution
- Operational AML/CTF experience will be highly regarded, as would knowledge of AML/CTF regulation
- International legal, compliance or regulatory experience
- Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality
- Keen attention to detail as well as an ability to view the bigger picture
- Strong analysis skills
- Sound written and verbal communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across the Group
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate at all levels
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
