A successful candidate will have ten years or more experience in Equities front-office trading applications including Algorithmic trading. He will be required to have hands-on development skills preferably kept up-to-date by practicing as part of his current job. He will require excellent communication skills to effectively work with business users and other technology teams. He will require drive and maturity to lead a very talented team. Experience in Asian markets is desirable. Good candidates with experience outside Asia will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Helping the business users device the business strategy to achieve the revenue growth and market share targets.
• Working closely with the business, taking all the business goals into consideration, device the technology strategy to support business growth, market coverage, algo coverage, stability, recoverability and performance.
• Fast paced delivery of algorithmic trading strategies for internal and external users.
• Driving the quality control strategy to achieve the quality objectives using unit testing, integration testing, pilot testing and client testing. Coordinate with QA team and client on-boarding teams.
• Working with application support team and infrastructure team to ensure adequate monitoring and controls are in place.
• Coach and mentor the highly talented members of the team to align their energy and focus towards the goals of the team. Continuously raise the technical competence of the team members to higher levels using appropriate tools including leading by example. The team distributed across multiple locations
• Understand upstream and downstream systems that are currently in use and that are going to be deployed in the future. Device and drive the strategy for connecting to the systems for order routing and post-trade processing.

  Technical Experience:

• Java 5 or Java 6 on Linux/Unix/Solaris.
• Currently practicing hands-on coding.
• Architectures suited for high availability, low-latency and automatic failover.
• Architectures scalable for capacity.
• Communication protocols, UNIX network programming.
• Application protocols including FIX and vendor protocols.
• Familiarity with Front-end application in C# running on Windows XP/Vista.

  Functional Domain Experience

• Algorithmic Trading
• Concepts of order management on the sales side and the execution side.
• Order Routing Systems and post-trade processing.
• Exchange connectivity and trading rules and idiosyncrasies of Asian exchanges

• Communication skills to communicate with internal and external clients and other technical teams.
• Coaching and mentoring skills.
• Planning and prioritization

  Hands-on Development

• Hands-on development skills kept current and up-to-date.
