Our client is an active investment manager, development advisor, and asset manager of real estate properties in China and the region.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Associate will be a part of a small, entrepreneurial real estate development team and will report directly to the company’s executives.
There is considerable opportunity for professional growth, both as the Senior Associate gains more experience and also as the company expands.
Support senior executives with the overall analysis of the portfolio, including tracking significant events for each asset, reviewing valuation assumptions and cash flow projections, managing data collection and organizing and compiling historic and future capital flows.
Review and perform ad hoc analysis on project development and operating budgets, cost schedules, leasing forecasts and assumptions, and general analysis related to the development and management of real estate assets - all on a portfolio level, for the executive team and investors.
Participate in the investment decision making process, with regards to asset buy/sell analyses and the effects of refinancing or other capital events by working directly with the senior management team and key investors.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have at least four to six years of real estate experience, ideally in an investment management environment (private equity, investment banking, or portfolio management.)
Possess a passion for real estate and a desire participate in the world’s fastest growing real estate market.
Excellent quantitative and financial analysis and modeling skills (superior knowledge of Excel is required; knowledge of Argus is an advantage).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in Mandarin is an advantage.
Experience interacting with clients/investors of US or European institutions and internal company employees (including regional development and asset management teams).
BA or BS from a top tier undergraduate college or university is required; an MBA is an advantage.
Able to think and act independently with minimal supervision and oversight, with an ability to work on multiple projects at once with varying levels of intensity. Ability to enjoy and thrive in a small but energetic and entrepreneurial workplace.
